We were commissioned to create a catalog to accompany the exhibition Classic meets Contemporary, which focused on the 150-year dialogue between works of Classic Modernism and Contemporary Art. Contemporary artists from Galerie Herold have chosen art works from Classical Modernism and juxtaposed them with their own current works, creating a conversation between the epochs. We created a catalog design that reflects this concept: classic typography meets modern typography, and classic paintings are placed in contemporary settings.
