Accompanying the exhibition ReVision. Photography at the MKG held at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in 2017, this catalogue was published by Steidl Verlag. Studio Mahr developed and realized the graphic design.

The book sheds light on the diverse collection and its history from a variety of angles, with eleven chapters spotlighting selected genres including portrait, architecture, and travel photography. It examines crucial discourses such as the desire for a precise and objective documentary photographic record and the nineteenth-century roots of the traditions of photography as scientific tool and archival medium.
